Hey folks! Welcome to my blog. My name is Tish and I’m vegan. I love to cook, eat, and talk about cooking and eating, so I started this blog to share my experiences with cooking and eating well in a vegan kitchen. I’m a city girl and I love fancy food, but I was raised by Southern folk and feel just at home with a plate of rice, beans, and cornbread. I collect functional kitchen unitaskers and full-tang carbon steel knives. My cookbook collection will need its own bedroom soon.

I’ve lived in California nearly all my life. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, and I moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2001. I live with my husband and cat. More importantly, I live within a four-mile radius of three (yes, THREE) Trader Joe’s.  When I’m not cooking, I’m either playing guitar, writing, removing cat fur from something, or at Trader Joe’s.

  1. I’ve always had a field day at the Trader Joe’s when I visit my brother in North Carolina. But three? That’s just decadent. I’m envious. Beautiful dinner pic as well; is that broccolini, tofu with fancy grill marks, and giant cous cous? Looks tasty!

    • Hi there! It sure is, all compliments of Trader Joe’s and a cast iron grill pan. Of course, one of the fastest meals I’ve put together ends up being one of the most photogenic.
